Fagaitua High School Hosts the First Gubernatorial Candidates Forum on Campus
Under the leadership of Ms. Faugagana Fagaava and the Samoan/Social Studies department, the US/AS Government classes planned and implemented a forum to allow all students access to the candidates to hear their platforms and answers to the questions developed by the students. The gubernatorial team of Faoa Sunia and Taufetee John Faumuina were not able to attend the forum due to government duties and obligations. Present were Team Afoa Lutu and Le'i Sonny Thompson, Team Lolo Moliga and Lemanu Mauga, Team Salu Hunkin-Finau and Iuni Savusa, and Team Save Tuitele and Tofoitaufa Sandra King Young.

Students asked questions ranging from government accountability to permanent residents' rights, unemployment, health care, and education. Candidates were able to present their views and stances on these issues and share what was important to them in terms of improving our government and the welfare of the people. Each teams had supporters on campus and literature available to all students who wish to know more about the candidates, their backgrounds and their platforms.

The event ended with a thank you remark by the principal and also the presentation of gift baskets prepared by the senior class.

We would like to thank all the senior class and their parents as well as the teachers for providing refreshments and lunch for our guests. Thank you also the time and effort put into preparing and implementing this project. All in all, the forum was a success!!!
